The Care Quality Commission has recently inspected and rated Primary Homecare as an Outstanding Service.
Primary Homecare is a local home care agency which has been established for over 17 years. It is owned and run by directors, Mrs Prema Fairburn-Dorai and her son David. It has strong family values which are reflected in the fact that her other sons, Adrian and Jonathan are also involved in the business and her nephew, Alex, heads up the IT department.
The Registered Manager, Cheryl Milldown has been with the company since it started in 2003 and her passion for the people that use the service and the staff shines through.
The dedicated team of Co-ordinators and Carers share her enthusiasm to deliver an outstanding quality service to enable local people to stay in their own homes, offering not only the usual personal care and support with meals and medication, but also re-enablement with physiotherapy, occupational therapy, respite, short- or long-term care, cleaning, gardening, and a range of other services.
Each package is tailored to meet individual needs both with service and time, ensuring flexibility that supports independent living as far as possible.
At the recent inspection the CQC found that the clients were being provided with safe, responsive, caring, effective and a well-led provision. The report showed that Primary Homecare has robust quality systems in place and all the staff are passionate and committed to giving the highest standard of care.
Primary Homecare consistently receives excellent feedback from clients who all look forward to the visits from the friendly staff. People have commented, “they are delightful, respectful and courteous”, “they are first class”, “could not want any better” and “they go the extra mile”.
Other healthcare professionals have also been extremely complimentary about their experience of using our service, with comments such as: “We have high regard for Primary Homecare, the service is effective & responsive”.
Our clients gave the CQC many examples of how the care staff give a consistently high standard of personal care that is always tailored to meet client’s individual needs and wishes.
Overall Primary Homecare ratings are as follows:
Operations manager, Julie Mills said that staff morale has always been high at Primary Homecare, but since gaining a highly-commended award at Suffolk Care Awards this year, getting rated as Outstanding by the CQC has “…just put the icing on the cake!”
